Adventure Kids

Self directed adventures for 10 -14 year olds.

Adventure Kids was created when our freeplay children started to get a little older and needed something more to continue their journey of independence.

As our children grow there are limited opportunities for autonomy to learn life skills and self governance in a safe space. Adventure Kids is a supported space where our youth can express themselves freely as they navigate their way to adulthood.

We host club days where our older tamariki can meet up, be silly and maybe learn a few new things. The afternoon is run by the kids and the direction it takes is up to them, but with the supervision to keep everyone safe.

These self directed activities foster independence while building positive supportive friendships between our members. These relationships help build resilience and confidence at a time when peers are becoming more important.

Past activities have included, beach walks, Albany Pools, food challenges, movie nights, rock climbing, bowling, scavenger hunts, craft nights, board games, bush craft….. the list is only limited by the imagination of our members!
